Deposits changing 6/1/13 | prepaid billing available 5/1/13

Starting June 1, 2013 a new process will be in place to sign up for electric service with the Cooperative. We will ask that a membership application be signed, a $5 membership fee be paid, and a security deposit ranging from $45 up to $495 will be required. The amount of the deposit will be based on your personal credit history with a zero to slight credit risk being assessed a $45 deposit; intermediate credit risk being assessed a $245 deposit; and a severe credit risk being assessed a $495 deposit.
All deposits will be refundable upon the close of your electric account. Members can avoid the credit check process by selecting our prepaid billing option. On May 1, 2013 the option of prepaid billing will be available. Working similar to purchasing food, gasoline, even cell phone minutes - this 'pay as you go' arrangement will allow members to purchase electricity on a schedule that is convenient. Members can use the Cooperative's online bill system or smartphoone app to monitor electric usage. The option also allows members to avoid late penalties, disconnect charges and reconnect fees. 4.18.13 NATIONAL LINEMAN APPRECIATION DAY

Callaway Electric Cooperative joins utilities across the nation today to honor linemen for their work in keeping the power on. Just this week the U.S. Senate passed a resolution which designates April 18, 2013 as 'National Lineman Appreciation Day'. We take our hats off to the Callaway linemen along with all of the men and women across the country who work in all conditions at all hours of the day and night to keep the lights on - whatever the call, their service to the public is truly commendable.
Mobile app for billing and account info now available

If you have been on the Cooperative's online billing and presentment website in the last few months, you may have noticed a 'SmartHub' logo. The cooperative's online billing site has recently changed, and the concept of the site is a secure place to receive timely, accurate information about your electric account including billing and usage history. You can also make payments, sign up for recurring payment, view our news feed, set account alerts, and contact the Cooperative.
For those fans of online billing and for the growing number of smart phone or tablet users out there, we now have a mobile app version of SmartHub available. The mobile version is similar to the website, allowing easy access to account usage and billing history, with payment features at your fingertips, a quick view of our news feed, and access to a service area map which includes any current outages.
